5 Beauty Benefits of Aloe

Posted by on

Aloe Vera is often used as an aid for sunburns and skin irritations, is a member of the succulent family and is very familiar in Southern California.

Why Aloe Vera?

Aloe vera is great to have in the garden because aloe is a phenomenal skincare agent. Aloe vera is an antioxidant, it is anti-inflammatory, and anti-bacterial. Essentially, aloe can help reduce redness and inflammation, protect the skin from damage, and help clear up the skin due to any irritations or bacteria, such as those that can lead to acne.

Aloe is one of the ingredients that we use here at Summer Glow Co. which is why this week we are highlighting the benefits of aloe for your skin.

Five Skin-Loving Benefits of Aloe Vera

  1. Aids in sunburns and minor skin irritations
  2. Powerful skin moisturizer
  3. Helps to reduce acne

How To Use Fresh Aloe at Home

If you have an aloe plant at home, you can use the gel inside to make a simple aloe face mask which can provide a lot of hydration to the skin leaving it feeling cool and refreshed.

Simply cut a fresh leaf of aloe at the base, cut the leaf in half and rub the fresh gel onto your face and neck. Allow to dry for a few minutes before rinsing off with water.

Aloe can also be applied to minor scrapes and burns, as its cooling property is a powerhouse when it comes to minor skin irritations due to the plant’s ability to retain water.

You can also find aloe in both our detox antioxidant clay mask and our brightening 2 in 1 mask and polish.

Use detox to help draw impurities from the skin and brightening to gently exfoliate the skin to reveal a brighter complexion. Either way, your skin will thank you.

Keep glowing.
